Rooftop Rock that takes place Saturday has moved locations to make room for all those who wish to attend the event.

Originally to be held at the local Canadian Tire store organizers realized they had quickly run out of room to keep all those who wish to attend at a safe physical distance.

"We are super excited for this Saturday's event and apparently so are a heck of a lot more people than we originally anticipated," Kyle Sampson, event producer, said.

"When we started planning this thing, we figured we would see a couple hundred cars in the parking lot at best, but what we are now realizing is that we could see significantly more than that - so we need to be adequately prepared."

Always keeping public health and safety in mind, he added, the event will follow all public health guidelines.

Vehicles will be parked in a checker-board type pattern leaving every other space empty. The row behind each vehicle will be staggered from the one in front, providing patrons with the best view possible of Studio 720, who will be playing from the roof of CN Centre.

Studio 720 is a local hard rock band who will be playing a variety of classic covers mixed with a number of originals. Additional information about the band can be found online at:www.facebook.com/studio720music.

Despite enhanced spacing, patrons will still be required to stay in their vehicle and must follow all laws and health orders that are in place.

Although the event is free, organizers are asking patrons and at-home viewers to give within their means to the selected beneficiary. Wheelin' Warriors of the North is a cycling team who raises funds for the BC Cancer Foundation. To date the team has raised more than $1 million in the fight against cancer, with 100 per cent of those dollars staying in the Prince George community. The goal is to add $10,000 to their fundraising efforts.
