Walmart launched its grocery delivery service in Greater Victoria and in stores across Canada today, saying it can deliver orders to your door in as fast as an hour.

Walmart Canada and Instacart announced the national expansion of their partnership to about 200 stores across the country. The service follows a 17-store pilot project in the Greater Toronto Area and Winnipeg.

Online grocery shopping and delivery has been offered in Greater Victoria by Thrifty Foods and Save On Foods for years.

Walmart's service was available starting Thursday morning at its stores in Saanich and Langford and 29 other stores across B.C.

Customers can download the Instacart app or visit instacart.ca to find their local Walmart Supercentre and place their order. Fees may be charged, depending on size of order and speed of delivery.

Instacart personal shoppers then shop on the customer’s behalf for Walmart’s groceries.

Walmart said Items selected will then be delivered directly to customers’ doors in as fast as an hour or at a later date and time.
