V2V Vacations unveiled the nearly finished V2V Empress at Point Hope Shipyard on Monday.

The passenger ferry for service between Victoria’s Inner Harbour and downtown Vancouver will start on May 1.

The catamaran is almost ready for sea trials after nearly 16,000 man-hours went into reconfiguring the vessel.

While work continues on the interior, First Nations artist Billy Cook’s orca, which is displayed on both sides of the vessel, is ready for the sea.
