Sport institute adds to board

Randy Smith, a retired financial planner, longtime community advocate and avid health and fitness proponent, is the newest board member of the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence Society.

Randy Smith, a retired financial planner, longtime community advocate and avid health and fitness proponent, is the newest board member of the Pacific Institute for Sport Excellence Society. Smith has interests in skiing, golf, mountain biking and swimming. He was previously a board member of the Tunijjusiarut Foundation and Greater Victoria Art Gallery, and treasurer of the Victoria Art Gallery Foundation. He was also a member of the Victoria Downtown Business Association, Victoria Harbourside Rotary, Victoria Chamber of Commerce and the Victoria Marathon Society Committee. Smith, who divides his time between Victoria and Whistler, is active on the mountain as a host and ski guide. He retired in 2010 after 24 years as a financial planner, and five years as a branch manager for a national trust company. The other PISE board members are: Elaine Dagg-Jackson, Mandy Farmer, Kathryn Laurin, Peter Lawless, Margaret Lucas, Kelly Mann and Chris Trumpy.
