The Running Room officially re-opened its Broadmead Village store on Wednesday with a pink-ribbon cutting and run led by the chain’s founder and Canadian running guru John Stanton. The event — Think Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month — was in support of the local chapter of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation BC/Yukon Division. Stanton and education athletics consultant Don Zabloski, a Victoria resident, also signed copies of their new book, Running Room’s Book on Family Fitness, which provides tips and ideas to inspire families to get active. “This time of the year, it’s important to remember that daily physical activity and healthy eating are key ingredients that will help keep you mentally fit to handle the stress of work, school and extra-curricular activities,” said Stanton. The Running Room has stores across Canada, including three stores in Greater Victoria and one in Nanaimo.
