Sandy Pratt has joined the Royal British Columbia Museum as vice-president of business development and chief financial officer, replacing retiring CFO Faye Zinck. Pratt was previously vice-president of finance with the Oak Bay Marine Group and has held senior financial roles with Angiotech Pharmaceuticals and Deloitte ... The Vancouver Island Construction Association has hired Marie Savage as manager of education services. She spent five years creating educational programming for the development industry, including green building professionals and trades ... Victoria-based software maker Procura has named Garry Neale as manager of its Australian operations. Procura has more than 12,600 users at 600 customer sites in community and aged care organizations across Australia and North America.

Building notes: Saanich's roundabout at McKenzie and Sinclair

The District of Saanich has hired Westbrook Consulting to provide contract administration and inspection services for the upcoming roundabout project at McKenzie Avenue and Sinclair Road. The four-leg, one-lane traffic roundabout is expected to help ease congestion around the University of Victoria. Stantec Consulting is working on a detailed design ... Design is set to start this month on the seismic upgrade to Deep Cove Elementary School. Chow Low Hammond Architects will start working on the design, which will include exterior buttresses on two blocks containing six classrooms with non-structural upgrades to the rest of the school. Construction is expected to start this summer ... The Fernwood Community Centre will be getting an HVAC system upgrade and the City of Victoria has issued a tender call for the work. It closes Jan. 29.

Mary Jane Spray, retired chair of applied business technology at Camosun College, and Jo Politano, recently retired from the B.C. Pension Corporation, are new to the board of the Cridge Centre for the Family. They join an executive that includes president Rosemary Smyth, owner of Rosemary Smyth & Associates Business Coaching; vice-president Colin Moorman of Duttons & Co. Ltd.
