Operations have returned to normal at Cameco's Rabbit Lake uranium operation in northern Saskatchewan after workers were forced to leave because of a forest fire.

Cameco says the fire burned its way to within one kilometre of the site. About 300 people left Friday, while 50 essential personnel stayed behind to monitor the fire and the sprinkler systems. After a survey of the area, Cameco and wildfire management determined it was safe to resume normal activities.
