Pearson College has named former deputy prime minister Anne McLellan as the new chair of its board of directors.
McLellan, who has spent three years on the board of the school, steps in to replace retiring chair Tony Macoun. The school’s leadership team now includes McLellan, vice-chair Christine Healy, president Désirée McGraw and vice-president (education and programming) Heather Gross.
“I am honoured to take on this responsibility as Canada’s only United World College embarks on an exciting new era, one in which we are guided by a clear vision as to how this institution can continue to help shape future leaders and change makers in Canada and around the world,” said McLellan, the Liberal MP for Edmonton Centre from 1993 to 2006.
