Butchart Gardens has rescheduled its employment fair to Feb. 27.

Due to the dump of snow and cold weather, Butchart Gardens has rescheduled its job fair to Feb. 27.

The fair was originally to have been held Wednesday evening.

The fair is geared to anyone who has a flair with flowers, a budding green thumb or the need to be in the midst of the flood of tourism traffic the gardens gets every summer. Butchart is one of the largest employers on the Saanich Peninsula, with 600 staff during peak times.

Jeannie Christison, director of human resources, said the Butchart Gardens hires students, seniors and every demographic in between, and the seasonal workers often return year after year and sometimes step into more permanent positions.

Butchart will have openings in a variety of jobs, including visitor services, food services, gardening and the gift store.

The job fair will be held in the coffee shop/information centre between 6 and 8 p.m. Bring a resumé and cover letter or an application form (online at butchartgardens.com/events/job-fair/).
