Bay Centre reaches out to Mustard Seed

The Bay Centre is wrapping its support for the Mustard Seed Food Bank's annual Spirit of Giving campaign in gift-card envelopes.

The Bay Centre is wrapping its support for the Mustard Seed Food Bank's annual Spirit of Giving campaign in gift-card envelopes. Until the end of November, every Bay Centre gift-card purchase of $75 or more will net the food bank a $20 donation to its 14th annual campaign. "Our goal is to raise $7,500," said Bay Centre general manager Darlene Hollstein, who created the campaign in hopes of increasing awareness of the essential services provided by the food bank. The community can also support the Mustard Seed by visiting the Food, Fashion & Art exhibit on display starting Dec. 1 at the Bay Centre.

The exhibit will showcase 16 one-of-a-kind creations made from recycled food labels and designed by fashion-design students from the Pacific Design Academy. Shoppers can vote for their favourite garment by making a donation to the Mustard Seed. The Food, Fashion & Art exhibit will be on display until Jan. 2. The public can also donate non-perishable food and cash for the Mustard Seed until Dec. 24, at the Bay Centre's Spirit of Giving location on Level 2.
