Day 2 of Experience Tectoria featured an announcement to herald the formal establishment of the B.C. Innovation Council's Acceleration Network, which includes Accelerator Tectoria at VIATeC's offices.

The Victoria-based Accelerator has been up and running since April and together with its Okanagan counterpart in Kelowna has been working with 47 companies and created 140 jobs.

Thursday, the ties that bind the two offices and future sites of Accelerator centres around the province were solidified.

The network brings together mentors and business leaders along a network to offer advice and mentorship for start-up companies. The goal is to provide entrepreneurs with a consistent and disciplined method of accelerating the growth of their companies.

"This network has been designed as a rigorous, province-wide team effort to help them succeed," said Dean Prelazzi, managing director of the network.

Prelazzi said in the next few months the BCIC hopes to have established partners in the Kootenays, Kamloops, Nanaimo and the Lower Mainland.
