One of director Atom Egoyan’s favourite actors will star in Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre’s production of Love Letters.

Canadian actor Bruce Greenwood — who had major roles in Egoyan’s Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter and Ararat — will perform in A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters. The drama, running March 26 to 30 at McPherson Playhouse, will also star Janet Wright, best known as Emma Leroy on CTV’s Corner Gas series.

Greenwood has appeared in such movies as Flight with Denzel Washington, and Capote with Philip Seymour Hoffman. He has also been in Star Trek, Double Jeopardy, The Core, Thirteen Days, Eight Below and Firehouse Dog.

Wright has acted in such films as Robert Altman’s McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Bordertown Cafe and A Perfect Storm (with George Clooney). She is also a noted stage actress, having performed for the Stratford Festival and the Arts Club Theatre.

Blue Bridge artistic director Brian Richmond, who is directing Love Letters, also directed the pair in a cross-Canada tour of the musical Cruel Tears in the 1970s.

Love Letters runs for seven performances.

Tickets can be purchased at the McPherson box office (250-386-6121) or the Blue Bridge office (250-385-4462).
