Spiritually Speaking

This year can be different to last year if we consistently use this one simple ingredient in our daily activities.

From every indication, the present economic system in much of the world has failed to distribute wealth justly and equitably.

It is encouraging to think that a ‘Mother’ image of God can be known along with a ‘Father’ image of God, our ‘Holy Parent’.

How do we add furniture, artwork, paint colours to our homes? What are our ideas about decor? Is it haphazard? An interior designer decor? Or something else more personal, maybe spiritual?

The birth of the Christ Child calls us into abundance. It also calls us into sacred imagining to make beautiful the broken pieces around us. This love is at the heart of creation, for in hopelessness, hopefulness can be re-discovered.

Given we all will face challenges at some point in our lives, I ask how will each of us react, respond, or show up in challenging times?

Advent reminds me of God’s deep love and longing for a lost and hurting world. A love and longing enough to meet us in the flesh, as a gift, and everlasting hope for this world.
