Two friends got into a fight over booze and one of them wound up with shotgun pellets in his leg, RCMP say.
A 39-year-old man was shot in the leg in Tappen at about 1 a.m. on Saturday.
Police were told that the shot was fired in self-defence.
The injured man is in stable condition and not co-operating with police. The man who shot him remains in custody.
Tappen is north of Salmon Arm.
