Legendary rocker Alice Cooper is coming to Colwood this year for his first Greater Victoria concert in nearly 30 years, organizers announced.

The popular School’s Out rocker, 68, will perform Oct. 18 at the Q Centre, home of the Victoria Shamrocks — his first Victoria appearance since a 1987 date at the former Memorial Arena in Victoria.

Cooper’s most recent Vancouver Island appearances were two sold-out concerts at the Port Theatre in Nanaimo in 2013.

According to Cooper’s website, the date at the Q Centre is one of just two Canadian stops on his 2016 itinerary.

The Detroit native, born Vincent Furnier, will spend the summer touring the U.S. and Europe with his new supergroup, Hollywood Vampires, which features actor Johnny Depp and Joe Perry of Aerosmith. The Vampires aren’t coming to the Colwood show.

Tickets for Cooper’s Oct. 18 concert go on sale Friday for $58.50 and $99.50. They are available at selectyourtickets.com or by phone at 250-220-7777. The Q Centre, which has a capacity of 2,780, is at 1767 Old Island Hwy.
