Considering we are nearing the end of school, the pressure is on to get things done. Students are stressing once again over last-minute projects, more looming deadlines and, of course, exam week.

Tension is building and students are exhausted. But we’re so close. We’re in the final sprint, again. It’s the same as every year and we’ll always get through it, no matter how hard it seems.

However, even through all this strain, we have to remember not to overwork ourselves. We have to be kind to ourselves and find ways to ease the stress, even if we know it won’t last much longer.

Yes, it’s important to try our hardest to get everything done, but we have to be careful. We cannot let ourselves get swept up in end-of-the-year chaos. We might feel like we’re losing steam but we’re so close to the finish line.

If we take care of ourselves and get enough sleep to stay focused the final sprint will go a lot smoother. In the big picture, when we stress ourselves out too much, it can be detrimental to our mental health. So many things can go wrong when we’re overworked and, in the long run, we won’t really benefit from it.

For now, we have to remind ourselves that we’re so close. We have to stay positive and look forward to the summer fun we’ll have.

But we also have to be careful not to burn ourselves out as we finish everything for the end of the year.
