High and dry without pool

Thank you for publishing the letter from Dale Morgan about the closure of the Gibsons swimming pool (“Gibsons needs its pool,” Sept. 18). We do have an older and smaller pool than Sechelt, but it is really important – especially for seniors and people with disabilities who have difficulty walking or hiking. Children really have fun in their designated times in the pool. There may be federal grants to help open closed facilities which provide valuable preventative health benefits. Consider how many seniors like us retire to Gibsons to enjoy all the amenities that were here and understand that now many of them who used the Gibsons pool are “high and dry!”
