The public is being advised to avoid Morris and Beach Grove Road as crews work to repair a broken water main Tuesday afternoon in front of the Beach Grove Motel.
Delta’s engineering director Steven Lan told the Optimist around 4:30 p.m. that crews were able to isolate the section of the water main, start repairs and re-establish water connections to most of the area residents.
“I think there is only two or three properties that are out of water,” said Lan. “We are trying to re-establish some water for the motel. It is right in front of the motel. There is a section of road closed on 12th because of the damage, so we are establishing a by-pass on Morris Cres.”
Lan said there is no cause yet, but crews will find that out once they dig out the pipe as they make repairs.
