A craving for Dutch pancakes that can be served sweet or savoury will soon be satisfied at the Tsawwassen Commons.
The De Dutch Pannekoek House is the latest eatery that has been confirmed to open soon at the outdoor mall.
In an email with the Optimist this week, Novy Cheema, associate director of real estate for Gracorp Capital Advisors Inc. said De Dutch will be opening in the space beside Mucho Burrito.
The two premises next to Two Stones Grill will be Donair Affair and Freshii, while the unit next to the dental office is proposed to be a dry cleaner, but Cheema said they are still working on getting the lease finalized.
Cheema said there are also plans for the former SMK Smokery + Bar, which closed in early August.
“In regards to SMK we are working with the current owner/operator in a new concept for that space and hopefully will have something to announce in the next couple of weeks,” he said.
Anchored by Walmart, Canadian Tire, Rona and others, the 100-store mall on Tsawwassen First Nation land was expected to open in October 2016 in conjunction with the adjacent 200-store Tsawwassen Mills, but a slower than anticipated retail market stalled construction.
Once fully complete, Tsawwassen Commons will be a 550,000-square-foot open air shopping centre.
