Following the theft of Halloween decorations from the front yard of a Ladner family last weekend they say they aren’t mad – just disappointed.

On Saturday, Oct. 24, Robin Beth noticed two out of the four lights that created the spooky shadows between the trees in her front yard were missing. She took to the Facebook group Tsawwassen Loop (NEW) to voice her frustrations.

“My family and I spent hours decorating our house for Halloween,” Beth wrote. “It made us happy and we figured it would make all of the kids that walk by our house smile on their way to and from school.”

Catching up with the Optimist at her home, Beth explained she holds no animosity towards the people who took the lights.

“I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed that somebody would do that,” she said. “We're all supposed to be in this together.”

In total the lights cost $12 and a trip to Walmart, but Beth says it’s not a monetary issue, but rather an issue of principle.
