Take a look into the true stories behind the hit Broadway musical Come From Away.

You Are Here: A Come From Away Story screens for the next Last Mondays at the Movies night, June 24 at Massey Theatre.

The intimate feature documentary goes deep into the community of Gander, Nfld., where 38 airliners carrying more than 6,500 passengers were forced to land after the terrorist attacks on 9/11.

“The film pulls back the emotional layers surrounding the five days during which the community housed, fed and cared for the dislocated passengers (or the “come from aways,” in Newfoundland parlance),” says a write-up about the movie.

The documentary delves into first-hand accounts of the kindness and resourcefulness the community showed their unexpected guests.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. show. Tickets are $9 general admission, or $8 for seniors and students. You can buy ahead at www.ticketsnw.ca or pay cash at the door.

Season passes will also be available for the 2019/20 season of the Arts Council of New Westminster's movie series. You can pay $60 for a senior or student pass, or $65 for regular (cash or cheque accepted).
