WildPlay hosts naked bungy jump in Nanaimo

WildPlay Element Parks Nanaimo will host its seventh annual Naked Bungy for the British Columbia Schizophrenia Society on Feb. 23-24.

WildPlay Element Parks Nanaimo will host its seventh annual Naked Bungy for the British Columbia Schizophrenia Society on Feb. 23-24.

Last year, over 150 bare-it-all guests stripped themselves of everything but their courage to help the BCSS deliver youth programs, raise awareness about mental illness, and provide family support services to those coping with mental illness.

The brave souls who bare it all take a 150-foot plunge. Those who do not want to go buff are also welcome to participate, they just pay more for the honours.

The event is a fundraiser, but it is also an opportunity to invite people to face two of the biggest human fears, the fear of falling and the fear of being exposed. Part of BCSS's mandate is to encourage individuals to conquer self-perceived limitations.

Naked jumpers pay a $35 registration in advance, $45 on-site, and $99.99 if you jump clothed. Spectators (19 and older) are also welcome to take in the event at a minimum $15 donation.

WildPlay suggests calling 1-888716-7374 to register in advance to reserve your jump time.
