KELOWNA — A Vernon emergency room doctor told the murder trial of an Armstrong teenager that her zombie Halloween makeup made it more difficult to assess her injuries.

Dr. Michael Concannon was on duty Halloween night 2011 when 18-year-old Taylor Van Diest was brought in to the Vernon emergency room.

Concannon told Mathew Foerster’s murder trial that the teen had the most severe brain injury a person could have, that she couldn’t breath on her own and she died in hospital a few hours later.

The Crown wrapped up its case on Tuesday after hearing from 16 witnesses in the first degree murder trial.

Foerster has pleaded not guilty, but has admitted to causing the injuries that led to Van Diest’s death.
The defence is expected to present evidence later this week.
