VAL GARDENA, Italy - Norwegian skiers Kjetil Jansrud and Aksel Lund Svindal were 1-2 in the final training session on Thursday for the annual downhill on the Saslong course.
Jansrud clocked 1 minute, 58.45 seconds and Svindal, the overall World Cup leader, was 0.07 seconds behind.
Klaus Kroell of Austria was third, 0.45 seconds back.
A super-G is scheduled for Friday, followed by the downhill on Saturday. The circuit then moves to nearby Alta Badia for a giant slalom on Sunday, followed by a night slalom in Madonna Di Campiglio on Tuesday.
Jansrud won a super-G on home snow in Kvitfjell last season and finished third in the super-G here last year. His best result in downhill was second in Kvitfjell last season.
Despite all his success, Svindal has never fared well in downhill here.
