Victoria Shamrocks roll over New Westminster Salmonbellies

The two goals gave the Shamrocks a 4-1 lead and the visitors never looked back at Queen’s Park Arena, taking period leads of 5-3 and 10-5.

With the win the Shamrocks improve to 9-2 and will return home to face the Langley Thunder tonight at 7:45 p.m. at The Q Centre, trying to make it an even 10 consecutive victories.

Jesse King had three goals and Daryl Veltman, Scott Ranger and Rhys Duch had a pair of goals each for the Shamrocks. Jon Harnett and Mitch Jones also scored for Victoria. Cory Conway had five helpers and Veltman also had two assists.

Matt Roik had a strong game in goal for Victoria facing 21 shots in the opening period and 57 overall.

Luke Gillespie and Jordan McBride, with a pair each, Ian Hawksbee, Logan Schuss, Curtis Hodgson and Colton Clark replied for New West, which falls to 7-4.
