Victoria Royals to start pre-season in Everett

The Victoria Royals announced they will play seven pre-season games against teams from both the B.C. and U.S. divisions of the Western Hockey League.

Victoria will travel to Everett, Washington, for the Silvertips’ annual Pre-Season Classic at Comcast Arena. The trip will see the Royals play three games, with the first Aug. 29 against Everett, followed by games Aug. 30 against the Seattle Thunderbirds and Aug. 31 against the Tri-City Americans.

The Royals then travel for two games at the UBC Tournament at Thunderbird Arena hosted by the Vancouver Giants. The Royals will play the Kamloops Blazers there on Sept. 6 and Kelowna Rockets on Sept. 8.

The Royals lone home contest of the preseason is Sept. 11 at 5 p.m. against the Giants at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.

Victoria concludes the pre-season against the Rockets in Kelowna on Sept. 13.

The full WHL regular-season schedule is expected to be announced today.
