The Victoria HarbourCats had a lot of time to think about it Monday on the ferry and bus rides.

The HarbourCats responded to a heart-breaking late WCL loss Sunday afternoon, at home against the Port Angeles Lefties, with a 6-0 victory over the Bend Elks on Monday night in Oregon.

Six-foot-three infielder Harrison Spohn, from California Baptist, had two hits, including a triple, with three RBIs to lead the HarbourCats. Victoria starter Tyler Thomas took the win by allowing three hits over five innings. That overcame the sting of a ninth-inning collapse the day before when the Lefties scored four runs in the top of the ninth to stun the HarbourCats, and a Father’s Day throng of 3,021 at Wilson’s Group Stadium, to rally for an 8-7 victory.

The HarbourCats (7-6) and Elks (3-13) are back at it tonight in Bend.
