Steve Nash to start for Lakers against Warriors after missing 24 games with leg injury

OAKLAND, Calif. - Steve Nash will start for the Los Angeles Lakers against the Golden State Warriors after missing 24 games because of a small fracture in his lower left leg.

Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said before the game Saturday night that Nash will have no minutes limit. The 38-year-old was injured in the second game of the season, the former Phoenix star's first with the Lakers. Los Angeles is 12-14 so far this season.

Nash, a two-time NBA MVP, averaged 4.5 points and four assists in 25 minutes during his two games — both losses — for the Lakers. Los Angeles has won three in a row over Washington, Philadelphia and Charlotte.

Nash's return comes ahead of the more difficult matchups against the surprising Warriors (18-9) and New York Knicks (19-7) on Christmas day.

D'Antoni also said Darius Morris will start at shooting guard and Metta World Peace will come off the bench.
