GLASGOW, Scotland - Celtic gave a glimmer of hope to the chasing pack in the Scottish Premier League by losing 1-0 to Hibernian on Saturday, ensuring the reigning champions will take a six-point lead into 2013.
Leigh Griffiths scored the only goal of the game in the ninth minute for his 14th of the season, with Hibs needing a resolute defensive effort to preserve the win.
Both second-place Inverness, which drew 1-1 at St. Johnstone, and third-place Motherwell, which was held 2-2 by Kilmarnock, are six points adrift of Celtic.
Dundee stayed nine points behind Ross County at the bottom of the standings after losing 3-1 at home to Aberdeen.
