Saint-Etienne signs Nordsjaelland midfielder Andreas Laudrup on loan until the end of season

SAINT-ETIENNE, France - Saint-Etienne has signed attacking midfielder Andreas Laudrup on loan from Danish club FC Nordsjaelland until the end of the season.

The French first division club said on its website Thursday that it has an option to make the move permanent at the end of the loan spell.

The 22-year-old is the son of Swansea manager Michael Laudrup, and was born in Barcelona when his father — widely considered Denmark's best ever player — played for the Catalan club in the early 1990s.

Andreas Laudrup helped Nordsjaelland win the Danish league last season and played in the Champions League this term. He played more than 80 games for the club.

Saint-Etienne, which is 10th in the standings, needs some attacking spark after failing to score in its past five league games.
