Panathinaikos' season goes from bad to worse with 3-0 loss at relegation-threatened Veria

ATHENS, Greece - Panathinaikos' worst ever season in the Greek league showed no signs of improving Sunday after a 3-0 loss at relegation-threatened Veria.

Ilias Ioannou scored twice for the hosts in the 13th and 45th minutes and Kenan Bargan added another goal in the 55th despite Panathinaikos having nearly two-thirds of possession.

Panathinaikos, last year's runner-up, is now in eighth place, 19 points behind leader and archrival Olympiakos and only eight in front of bottom-place Kerkyra in the 16-team league heading into the winter break.

Also Sunday, AEK drew 1-1 at home against Atromitos, Levadiakos beat Platanias 1-0 and the match between Aris and Xanthi ended in a 0-0 draw.
