Man United manager Alex Ferguson rules out January signings, happy with current squad

MANCHESTER, England - Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson says he isn't looking to sign any players in the January transfer window.

Ferguson says "I don't have to because I am more than satisfied with the players I have in my squad, a group as good as I have had in my time at Old Trafford."

United, which is top of the Premier League and one of two English team through to the last 16 of the Champions League, has generally opted against using the January window to bolster its squad.

Ferguson, who has been in charge of United since 1986, writes in Saturday's United Review magazine that fans shouldn't "hold your breath waiting for Manchester United to jump through the transfer window when it opens next week."

The winter transfer window in Europe opens Tuesday.
