LONDON - England midfielder Jack Wilshere is set to sign a new deal with Arsenal, tying himself to a Premier League club that has lost a host of key players in recent years.
Wilshere says "I am talking to the club and I probably will be committing my future to the club in the next couple of weeks."
Arsenal has lost Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy and Alex Song — among others — over the past two summers, while Theo Walcott could leave in June after failing to agree a new contract with the club.
Arsene Wenger's team began this weekend in seventh place in the Premier League after a lacklustre start to the season.
However, Wilshere says "we can get back to being the force we were."
