AMSTERDAM - Ajax has pulled within a point of leader PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch league with a 4-2 win at Willem II in Tilburg on Sunday.
The game appeared to be wrapped up in the first 15 minutes when captain Siem de Jong and Danny Hoesen scored. But Willem II levelled the score before halftime with goals of their own by Aurelien Joachim and Genaro Snijders.
But Ajax won in the closing minutes on goals by Niklas Moisander and Jody Lukoki.
In other matches, PSV drew 1-1 at NEC in Nijmegen, losing ground to Ajax and FC Twente. Second-place Twente beat Heracles Almelo 3-2 and is tied with PSV on 37 points.
Vitesse drew at home to RKC Waalwijk and fell to fourth, though rising star Wilfried Bony scored his league-leading 16th goal in 17 matches.
