The Ridge Meadows Lady Bruins rugby team were in great spirits after a hard-fought battle on their home field, Thomas Haney Youth Action Park, on Saturday.

They faced Burnaby Lake in a grinding defensive battle that ended with the Lady Bruins beating Burnaby 32-12.

"We had a pretty emotional game this weekend against Burnaby, the spring season just started for the rugby teams and the girls were pretty excited about this win," said Alison Granholm, director of women's rugby.
