Victoria this summer. The Toronto Raptors’ all-star NBA guard will conduct a basketball camp at CARSA Gymnasium on the University of Victoria campus Aug. 14-17.

The DeMar DeRozan Basketball Camp is open to players from six to 16. DeRozan will be in attendance to impart his hoops knowledge. The camp will feature guest speakers and several games per day.

The cost of the four-day camp is $400. Campers will receive a DeMar DeRozan camp T-shirt, photo and an autograph by the Raptors star, who was last on the Island when the Raptors hosted their pre-season camp at UVic’s CARSA Gym in September.

DeRozan earned a spot on the all-NBA second team announced Thursday, his second consecutive All-NBA honour.

The 28-year-old, who was named to the third team last season, set a career high in assists average while leading the Raptors to a franchise-record 59 wins and the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference for the first time.

“Being recognized among an elite group of my peers is always rewarding,” said DeRozan. “Knowing where I started and the work I’ve put in each year to improve makes this even more humbling.”

DeRozan averaged a team-best 23 points, plus 5.2 assists, and 3.9 rebounds per game, and scored a franchise-record 52 points in an overtime victory Jan. 1 versus Milwaukee. He joins Vince Carter as the only Raptors player to earn multiple All-NBA honours.
