Mackenzie Tour bound for Courtenay in 2017

The Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada will return to Vancouver Island with one of its five 2017 qualifying school tournaments, slated for May 1-5 at Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community in Courtenay.

The Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada will return to Vancouver Island with one of its five 2017 qualifying school tournaments, slated for May 1-5 at Crown Isle Resort and Golf Community in Courtenay.

The other 72-hole, no-cut events are slated for Carlton Oaks Country Club in Santee, California, March 13-17; The Country Club at Soboba Springs in San Jacinto, California, March 20-24; Sun ’N Lake Golf Club in Sebring, Florida, April 10-14; and PGA Village’s Wanamaker Course in Port St. Lucie, Florida, April 17-21.

Full fields of 120 players are expected for all five sites, with official details on the number of membership cards and playing status to be announced at a later date, say tour officials.

The stop at Crown Isle is part of a deal to host Mackenzie Tour qualifying through 2020.

The application to enter any of the Mackenzie Tour qualifying stops will open to the public on-line at PGATOUR.COM/MackenzieTour on Jan. 19, 2017, with entry fees tabbed at $2,750 US.
