BOSTON - Scott Wilson scored the go-ahead goal with 7:30 remaining in the third period as top-seeded UMass Lowell rallied for a 2-1 win over Providence Friday in a Hockey East tournament semifinal.

A.J. White also scored for the River Hawks (25-10-2), who will play Boston University for the conference crown Saturday. BU upset defending national-champion Boston College 6-3 in Friday's second semifinal.

Jon Gillies had 31 saves for Providence (17-14-7), but couldn't hold off the River Hawks in the third. He was bumped by a teammate when White scored on a rebound 34 seconds into the period to tie it. And Wilson started the winning sequence with a steal and pass to Riley Wetmore along the boards. Wetmore completed the give-and-go with a backhanded pass to Wilson for a one-timer.

The Friars had held a 1-0 lead since Kevin Rooney poked in a rebound with 11:01 left in the first.

Connor Hellebuyck finished with 34 saves for UMass Lowell.

The games drew an announced crowd of 14,855 at the TD Garden, home of the NHL's Boston Bruins.
