Rask scores winner as the Hitmen edge the Thunderbirds in OT

KENT, Wash. - Victor Rask scored 46 seconds into overtime as the Calgary Hitmen edged the host Seattle Thunderbirds 4-3 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Cody Sylvester scored twice for the Hitmen (36-16-4), who have won three games in a row, and Brooks Macek had a goal and two assists.

Alexander Delnov, Adam Kambeitz and Roberts Lipsbergs scored for the Thunderbirds (19-32-6), who are now winless in six contests.

Chris Driedger made 36 saves for the win as Danny Mumaugh stopped 27 shots in defeat.

Delnov and Lipsbergs scored in the first period to give the Thunderbirds a 2-0 lead, however Macek and Sylvester answered in the second period to tie the game 2-2.

Seattle took a 3-2 lead in the third period on a goal from Kambeitz before Sylvester scored at 16:27 for the Hitmen to force extra time.

Calgary went 1 for 2 on the power play while Seattle scored once on seven chances with the man advantage.
