PORTLAND, Ore. - Taylor Leier scored twice as the Portland Winterhawks doubled up the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds 4-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Derrick Pouliot added a single goal to round out Portland's offence.

Alexander Delnov and Michal Holub scored for the Thunderbirds (16-16-2), who dropped their fourth game straight.

Mac Carruth made 25 saves for the win as Brandon Glover allowed two goals on the first four shots of the game and was replaced at 5:01 of the first period. Danny Mumaugh stopped 29-of-31 shots in his WHL debut, but picked up the loss.

The two clubs combined for eight misconducts and 163 minutes in penalties, however Portland failed to score on six chances with the man advantage while Seattle went 1 for 4.
