Kubalik scores three times as the Wolves beat the Spitfires

SUDBURY, Ont. - Dominik Kubalik recorded his first career hat trick as the host Sudbury Wolves beat the Windsor Spitfires 8-4 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Mathew Campagna, Michael Kantor and Nicholas Baptiste each had a goal and an assist for the Wolves (22-17-10), who sit fourth in the Eastern Conference, while Ray Huether and Nathan Pancel also scored.

Alexander Khokhlachev recorded a hat-trick for the Spitfires (20-21-7), who sit four points out of the final spot in the Western Conference, and Nick Ebert picked up a goal and two assists.

Frank Palazzese turned aside 43 shots for the win as Jaroslav Pavelka took the loss after allowing five goals on 23 shots in 31 minutes of action. Jordan DeKort stopped 14-of-16 shots in relief.

Sudbury went 2 for 5 on the power play while Windsor scored twice on four chances with the man advantage
