PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Gianluca Curcuruto’s second power-play goal of the game bailed out his club as the Plymouth Whalers edged the visiting Owen Sound Attack 4-3 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.
After giving up a three-goal lead in the span of 2:04 midway through the third period, Curcuruto scored the winner for the Whalers (18-12-7) with only 13 seconds left on the clock.
Cody Payne and Matthew Mistele also scored for Plymouth, which has won three games in a row.
Kyle Hope scored twice for the Attack (25-10-3) and Gemel Smith had the other.
Alex Nedeljkovic made 26 saves for the win as Brandon Hope turned aside 22 shots in a losing cause.
Plymouth went 2 for 4 on the power play while Owen Sound failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
