Cousins scores twice, including OT winner, to down the Spirit

SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - Nick Cousins scored the winning goal 1:09 into overtime as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds edged the visiting Saginaw Spirit 2-1 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Cousins winner came while shorthanded and he also added a power-play goal for the Greyhounds (15-16-2) in the first period, which gives him a team-high 14 goals and 47 points in 33 games.

Nick Moutrey scored the lone goal for the Spirit (13-16-4), who have dropped back-to-back games.

Matt Murray made 34 saves for the win as Nikita Serebryakov turned away 37 shots in a losing cause.

Sault Ste. Marie went 1 for 7 on the power play while Saginaw failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
