Comrie with 36 saves as the Americans edge the Chiefs

SPOKANE, Wash. - Eric Comrie stopped 36 shots as the Tri-City Americans edged the host Spokane Chiefs 2-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Malte Stromwall scored the eventual winner at 4:47 of the third period for the Americans (19-12-3), who won for the first time in three outings, while Justin Feser scored the other.

Reid Gow scored for the Chiefs (23-9-1) and Eric Williams turned aside 18 shots in a losing cause.

Neither club could produce with the power play as Tri-City went 0 for 1 and Spokane 0 for 2.
