PORTLAND, Ore. - Mac Carruth made 31 saves for the shutout as the league-leading Portland Winterhawks romped to a 5-0 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds in Western Hockey League action Monday.
Paul Bittner, Nicolas Petan, Taylor Peters, Oliver Bjorkstrand and Brendan Leipsic each scored for Portland (32-5-1), which won its ninth straight game.
Brandon Glover stopped 38 shots in net for Seattle (16-19-3), which went scoreless on five power-play opportunities.
The Winterhawks meanwhile were 1 for 6 with the man advantage.
