CALGARY - Brooks Macek scored a hat trick and the Calgary Hitmen had five power-play goals Wednesday to thump the Brandon Wheat Kings 10-2 in Western Hockey League play.

Pavlo Padakin and Chase Lang each added a pair for the Hitmen (25-10-4). Brady Brassart, Zane Jones and Austin Calladine, who along with Lang had his first WHL goal, also scored.

Chad Robinson and Braylon Shmyr, a 15-year-old associate player from Calgary with his first WHL goal, replied for Brandon (14-21-4).

The Hitmen outshot the Wheat Kings 44-18.

Chris Driedger picked up his 20th win for Calgary with 16 saves.

Brandon's Curtis Honey stopped 23-of-29 shots before being replaced by Corbin Boes, who fared no better by giving up four goals on 15 shots.
