WINDSOR, Ont. - Alex Aleardi scored two goals and added three assists as the Windsor Spitfires edged the Plymouth Whalers 6-5 Sunday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Emerson Clark, Alexander Khokhlachev, Kerby Rychel and Brady Vail had the other goals for the Spitfires (24-29-7), who beat Plymouth for the first time in six games this season.

Tom Wilson scored twice for the Whalers (34-17-9), who had their eight-game win streak halted, while Stefan Noesen, Rickard Rakell and Mitchell Heard added singles.

With his second period goal, Rakell extended his goal-scoring streak to six consecutive games.

After falling behind 2-0 early in the second period, the Spitfires scored four goals in a span of 3:55 to change the tide in the game.

Jaroslav Pavelka made 38 saves to pick up the win in goal for Windsor. Plymouth's starting netminder Matt Mahalak was pulled midway through the second period after allowing four goals on 18 shots. He was replaced by Alex Nedeljkovic, who stopped 8-of-10 shots in relief.

Windsor went 1 for 2 on the power play while Plymouth scored once on four chances with the man advantage.
