The Victoria Highlanders marked the map with a victory on Friday night, downing the North Sound SeaWolves 2-0 in Edmonds, Wash., in the first of six straight road games.

Much like last Friday’s 3-1 Highlanders home victory over North Sound, the SeaWolves flexed some offensive muscle early. And just like last week, the first goal went to Victoria.

Highlanders goalkeeper Elliot Mitrou sailed a kick far downfield, and Brett Levis made no mistake in making the North Sound defence pay for a breakdown in assignments. Levis took the ball straight at 6-foot-7 SeaWolves ’keeper Ryan Herman, before finding the net, with his sixth goal of the season.

The Highlanders gradually took over the game in the second half, and Tyler Hughes took Herman by surprise with an long free kick in the 75th minute.

The Highlanders, now 6-1-1 while North Sound is 1-7-1, continue their road trip against Kitsap on Sunday.
