SYDNEY - Sweden's Caroline Hedwall shot a 4-under-par 68 in Sunday's final round of the New South Wales Open for a two-shot victory over defending champion Lydia Ko of New Zealand.

Hedwall finished with a 13-under total of 203 on the Oatlands golf club in Sydney. Ko, a 15-year-old amateur, shot 69, while England's Laura Davies had a 72 and was 10 shots behind Hedwall.

South Korea-born Ko became the youngest player, female or male, to win a professional tournament when she won the New South Wales Open last year aged 14.

Ko went on to finish as the leading amateur at the U.S. Women's Open in July, won the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship in August and then won the Canadian Open to become the youngest winner of an LPGA tournament
