Import quarterback Alex Brink has decided not to test Canadian Football League free agency, re-signing with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
"Alex has shown tremendous progression in his short time in our league and gained a lot of experience on the playing field last sea-son," Bombers GM Joe Mack said in a news release. "He is very well liked by his teammates and possesses great leadership qualities both on the field and in the locker-room. We look forward to having him back in Winnipeg as we continue to develop our young stable of quarterbacks."
Dales elects to test market
Burke Dales is preparing for a lot of things when free-agency gets under-way on Wednesday morning.
One of them is the likelihood that he has punted his last football for the Calgary Stampeders.
Dales, 34, decided to test free agency after the two-time CFL all-star and four-time West Division all-star turned down the Stamps' final contract offer.
Argos sign OL Parenteau
Veteran offensive lineman Marc Parenteau has signed a free-agent deal with the Toronto Argonauts, the team announced Monday.
Parenteau, 31, entering his eighth season in the CFL, has played in three Grey Cup games with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, winning the 2007 title at Rogers Centre.
Parenteau was let go by the Roughriders on Friday.
Lions' Lee retiring
B.C. Lions running back Jamall Lee has called it a career after three CFL seasons.
Lee, 24, told the Lions he is retiring, the team said on Monday. Lee, son of former Ottawa rough Rider Orville Lee, was the third over-all pick in the 2009 CFL draft.
Stamps re-sign Conn
Non-import linebacker Justin Conn has signed a contract extension with the Calgary Stampeders.
Eskimos sign free agent Quaye
The Edmonton Eskimos added some bulk to their defensive line on Monday, inking free agent import Kommonyan Quaye.
The six-foot-one, 300-pounder played his college ball at South Dakota, making 99 tackles, 5.5 quarterback sacks and one interception in his career.
Born in Monrovia, Liberia, Quaye was raised in Minnesota. He signed as an undrafted free agent in 2010 with the Jacksonville Jaguars and spent five weeks on the team's practice roster. After his release from Jacksonville, he spent the rest of the year on the Buffalo Bills practice roster.
In 2011 he was signed by the Cleve-land Browns and cut late in training camp.
The Eskimos should see more roster movement this week, as free agency opens across the Canadian Football League on Wednesday at 10 a.m. MT.
